Mike Bogen - Board President

Mike and his wife Bonnie moved to Summit County in 2018 after 27 years in Minnesota. He was introduced to Smart Bellies in 2021 by Bonnie, a Smart Bellies volunteer. Since then he has been helping with Friday deliveries. Mike has held several senior level management positions in his 30+ year career in the international transport, logistics and supply chain software sectors. Mike had a leadership role in developing and managing 2 European Union funded sustainability projects. These led to his current position as CEO of digi-trust.EU, a spin-off of one of the projects.
He served as a board member for a community youth sports association in Minnesota where his
responsibilities included finance and capital development projects. He served as a board member on a local government body that focused on improving the environmental quality of
one of Minnesota’s larger lakes.
Mike is an avid skier and takes advantage of Colorado’s many year round outdoor activities.
Marci Aerenson - Board Member
Marci found Smart Bellies during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic. She found that our packing parties were a great way to connect with others in the community while providing meaningful support to vulnerable children and families. Marci has served many social services organizations in hands-on and leadership roles. She is currently a mentor to young people with Mountain Mentors as well as the CMC student mentoring program. Since leaving a career in commercial lending her passion has been caring for her family and supporting the community, especially the parts of the community with the most critical needs.
Marci brings a background in finance and accounting plus many years of non-profit board experience. Her strength is as a connector so she quickly took on the role as volunteer coordinator to keep our shifts filled.
She and her husband, Andy, moved to Summit County in 2015 from Delaware. They both find great joy in community involvement as well as all of the outdoor activities to be found in the mountains. Marci can often be found nordic skiing in the backcountry with her dog, alpine touring, honing her downhill skiing skills on the resort and logging huge miles on her road bike while training for the Triple Bypass ride each summer. She loves living in Summit County and is passionate about helping Smart Bellies keep the children in our community healthy.

Kendra Carpenter - Board Member

Kendra Carpenter is the principal of Dillon Valley Elementary School in Summit School District, where she has dedicated her career to supporting children’s learning, well-being, and equitable access to opportunity. She cares deeply about kids and is passionate about addressing food insecurity so every child can come to school ready to learn.
As a member of the Smart Bellies Board, Kendra brings her perspective as an educator and community advocate to help ensure families have consistent access to nutritious meals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, biking, skiing, and getting lost in a good book.
Allen Cochran - Board Member
I started with Smart Bellies attending packing parties initially, and have since begun advising on the tools and technologies we're using behind the scenes.
I'm a software developer by day, but in my free time you can find me out and about playing disc golf or running (slowly) on trails, if I'm not reading a book on my porch, that is.

Gini Bradley - Board Member

Gini Bradley has been a part of the Summit County community for over 42 years. Gini worked for Summit County Government as the Director of Youth and Family Services for 11 years. Soon after leaving the County, Gini started a small consulting business supporting local and statewide non profit organizations.
These days, Gini enjoys volunteering with a variety of local non-profit organizations and playing hockey, riding her bike, skiing and hiking.
Nick Borovich - Board Member
I’ve called Summit County home since 2013, where I’ve built a life with my amazing wife, Nadia, and our daughter, Isla. Living above 11,000 feet has only deepened my love for winter—snowblowing and splitting firewood have become two of my favorite (and most essential) pastimes. I’m excited to introduce Isla to skiing and hope to enjoy the chairlift with her this season.
I’m proud to work at Grand Timber Lodge and have been part of the Breckenridge Grand Vacations family for over a decade. My BGV community continues to inspire my purpose—both through my work and my involvement with Smart Bellies. Being able to give back in ways that make a real difference for local families means the world to me.
